Ukraine House Officially Opens in Davos

Davos, 23 January 2018. The first-ever Ukraine House in Davos officially opened its doors for guests yesterday evening under the theme: “Ukraine: Creativity. Innovation. Opportunity”. Our venue is host to over 15 panels and events through Jan 26, details at http://www.ukrainehousedavos.uvca.eu/en.

Designed in a contemporary style and located in the very heart of Davos, Ukraine House pays homage to Ukraine’s rich culture and national identity, at the same time, showcasing the country’s IT and technology sectors, sectors that embody the emergence of a new, creative and innovative generation of business leaders and new opportunities.

“This is a historic moment for Ukraine. For the first time Ukraine is represented in Davos in the format of a week-long venue”, said Alexa Chopivsky, Executive Director of Ukraine House Davos, at the opening ceremony. “Ukraine has tremendous capability in the tech and innovation sectors and we are thrilled to showcase this talent to the global audience”.

“Our main goal is for those who visit Ukraine House to experience a dimension to Ukraine that may be new for them, that of a modern, exciting country with a thriving tech and creative cluster. The rise of the tech sector in Ukraine drives both new investment opportunities in start-ups and IT companies while at the same time, transforming traditional sectors such as agriculture and energy”, stated Jaroslawa Z. Johnson, President and CEO, Western NIS Enterprise Fund. “During the next few days the eyes of the global business community will be on Davos and this an excellent opportunity to promote the fast-growing IT sector.

“For 14 years with my Foundation and company we have been investing in promoting Ukraine through different Ukrainian events in Davos. I am very pleased that now we, together with other Ukrainians, are contributing strongly to presenting the country among the top international leaders. Showing the best of our country at Ukraine House Davos and engaging in a dialogue with the international community is an important step forward” – said Victor Pinchuk, Founder of Victor Pinchuk Foundation and EastOne.
